OUR VISION - GOAL AS A CHURCH

Canadian Plains Baptist Church has a bold vision and clear dense of direction. Our vision is to reach our neighborhoods, our city, and the world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our purpose within this vision is to: Evangelize the lost Establish believers in a loving, caring, and worshipping community. Deploy believers for ministries to their families, neighborhoods, Saskatoon, and the world. This vision will be accomplished by equipping all our church members to live the daily abundant life and to minister in all spheres of influence. These spheres of influence will include marketplaces, neighborhoods, schools, social organizations, and any other area that is available to the Christian witness. Our clear sense of direction is focused on the Great Commission as referenced in Matthew 28:19-20. By discipling our church people to be mature, reproducing disciples, every member within the Canadian Plains Baptist Church can contribute a vital part in the fulfillment of this vision and direction. Our "Philosophy of Ministry" is based on Ephesians 4:11-12 which states that every Christian is a minister and has a place of ministry. In these verses we are told that he gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastor/teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry to the building up of the body of Christ. At Canadian Plains Baptist Church, our staff serves by helping to equip the church people for their particular ministry. Through the process of being a disciple, each person is encouraged to grow spiritually, to share their faith with others, and to be involved in a personal one-on-one fruit-bearing ministry. This process of discipleship will provide a clear course for spiritual growth within the membership. When a lost person makes that critical decision of accepting the Lord as their personal Savior, he must then be nurtured through the teaching of Christ for the Christian life. After being grounded in the foundational doctrines, the Christian can mature as he begins his own area of ministry. Finally, he will re-initiate the process by reaching others through a well-balanced Christian life. Our ultimate goal is to see each Christian become a reproducer as he continues to grow into the image of Christ.
